How Fast You Can Type?

How Fast You Can Type?
One of my skills is to write fast… Pathetic isn’t it? ;-)

But no, I really thankful for this ability that I mastered many years ago before I realized it. Not just fast, but also blind-typing. I wonder what I suppose to do with this talent (if you can call it as talent). I once tried to apply for a data-entry job (at government office) which has good salary, but I was rejected because I’m not a permanent residence, ha..ha..ha.. *sweats*

But for now I think the writing skill (with keyboard), is for our own benefit, rather than for commercial purpose (lol?). It helps a lot in daily use, e-mail, doing papers for college, posting, and blogging. Plenty of friends, even my mother do envy me about this.

I remember the first time I realized I can do blind typing with keyboard. When I was in high school, one night, out of the blue I was thinking about the keyboard; and then I start to imagine to type my full name. And my fingers were moved accordingly.

I can’t tell (hard) the list of letters on keyboard start from top-left (Q) to the last right-bottom (M) as in order. But I can tell you where the letter is located, if you say it one by one.

Try your typing speed here:

How Fast Did You Type?
I just took this simple test. Quite amazed me, the result.. lol. 104.67 wpm (words per minute), and 436.55 cpm (characters per minute). I did the test about 5 times, this is the best result xD.

If you asked me how to improve your typing speed… well. Even if you’re typing by looking at the keyboard, try to use the proper fingers. Don’t just use 3-4 fingers. You can ignore the pinkies, but try to use the rest, since at last, your fingers are the only thing that will remember the position of the tuts.

And the next step is.. a lot of practice xD. Chatting, writing thing, or purposely taking a typing test, whatsoever. Good luck :D

    14 hours? D:

Since I moved here, just about 4-5 hours / day on computer in workdays, and 10-12 hours in holiday.

60 isn’t bad, by looking at the most average American people are at 30 wpm.

Oh wait. Yes, I have. I’m sorry, but I just don’t have it in me right now to type it all out again. Besides, it was just ramblings anyway. You didn’t want to hear me go on and on about this, right?

Mine: 111.59 WPM on the first test. But with number and symbol, usually I only get 100 WPM. Nice site.
