I’ll say it’s Gado Gado, then followed by Pecel. It’s not a seasonal symptom for me, to miss Indonesian food. I miss it everyday, even if I can make it myself, or buy it at Indonesian Food restaurant (quite far away from my residence), the feeling is just different.

Indonesian Food suppose to be eaten in Indonesia. What’s the difference? I don’t know.. ‘that‘ thing is missing. Maybe you can call it the atmosphere? Or the traditional plate we use (from banana’s leaf, what’s that called?), or maybe.. aha! I remember. It’s the drink!

Es Teh, Es Jeruk, Wedang Jahe, Soda Gembira, Kopi Tumbuk, Cendol, all kinds of drink. No, those are not gibberishes; just Google it for more info.

I’m not really sure where, but even in restaurant, I doubt they will have a glass of Es Teh (a dirt cheap glass of ice tea) unless it’s from an expensive brand, like… prada? (since when?) Heck, I don’t care, but that’s a dilemma. All you can drink with your meal is either water, coffee, and all things inside the vending machine (Coke family).

Not really, I had a nice poci of tea when I was visiting a Chinese Buffet Restaurant while ago; not sure how much it was.

Actually it’s not the drink alone. The place is different. We used to eat on the food stand called as Warung. It sets up on the Pedestrian Way. So.. yeah, pedestrians are walking on the side of the street instead, since most of it already booked by WARUNGS (could I added ’s’ for plural in Indonesian Word?).

You can smoke there… (no one beats this one)

Sometimes not just a stand, but they also build a big tent at the center of the city (usually at night), and lay mattresses around there, then we’re enjoying our dinner under the sky roof. Not to forget how the pollution, dust, and bugs are annoying, well, that’s the whole bundle.

Oh, one more thing. Eat all you want, then pay after. Based on trust, you should tell them what you swallowed. Yes, you can lie… but listen. If you don’t get caught, they still survive; if you get caught, you’re ended.
