“Oha~ Lucky!!” [Lucky ☆ Star]

I’m watching anime recently. The last anime I had seen was Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu? in late 2004. Until few weeks ago I found myself missing that series (Though I couldn’t remember any of its story but my hard laughs). So, once out of million times, torrent saved me again.

I’m not sure if I was an anime-lover. I read tons of mangas, but I never able to enjoying myself watching anime as much as when I’m reading mangas. Beside, in my country, the anime VCDs were quite expensive, not to mention DVD.. Manga also so well updated and more affordable over there.

Heh, the cost to download 1 episode of anime with the power of dial up, could feed you well enough for a month..

Sadly enough, I live in United States right now. The manga update over here is like 5 years behind; it’s pretty thick.. heavy, and expensive; but they have a fantastico internet speed, which led me to the new world =D.

After idling from manga and anime entertainment for… almost half decade, I just downloaded Fumoffu? and re-watch this series. I got a nice laugh, and I also finished myself watching the first and third season (The Second Raid) as well.

Then, my friend referenced me to watch Lucky ☆ Star. So, torrent-sama did a great job again for me, and I just finished it last night (24 episodes). This anime is a random (really random) story of 4 best-friended school girls, with a slap-stick total hilariousity (is it a word?) along the way. You will never able to predict what will happen or where the story goes.

The main character, Konata Izumi is an otaku. Anime and manga freak and an obese gamer. She’s so stupid as a student but turns out to be a genius when it comes into her world. This anime also throwing in bunch of references from other anime like Gundam, Full Metal Panic, Haruhi Suzumiya, Pokemon and many more that will make your cheek and belly cramps.

The other thing that really adorable is the Lucky Channel show that jumped-in in the last few minutes at the end of the time. The main hosts are Kogami Akira and Shiraishi Minoru. It also such a random show with a great comedy.

I enjoyed this anime so much. One good thing from the randomness is, you can’t remember what stories told in what episode and what next whatsoever. You can just re-watch it the next day and you will not feeling bored or dull. It also has a sweet fun opening song.

Seems like now I can say to you that I love anime; since I always confuse myself whether I love it or just okay with it ^^

Right now, I’m currently watching Clannad. It’s a drama (high-schooler based again) with a good mix of comedy. It still airing in Japan, and it’s a pretty good one so far.

To think about it.. in my country, they have a great manga collection with a shitty internet connection; and United States have a primitive manga database, but the internet speed is like a waterfall.

I still don’t know which one is better, but one thing for sure that I need a secondary hard-drive soon…
