Internet, Technology and Me

I started to know Internet when I was in high school. I remember my friend Billy introduced me to the Internet. So nostalgic, we went to the Internet Cafe, and for the first time I finally understand what Internet Explorer is meant for. A bit of embarrassing confession to tell that hentai was the first thing we learnt that time… hahaha, oh high school, so here’s a little bit story of my past…

1999 was also the time when I started studying HTML and the world of web, and blog. I met my elementary school’s friend Susan Yuanita (which she just get married couple weeks ago, omedettou!) through blog and taught me basic knowledge of it.

Shortly afterward, technology just rollercoasted my adventure. I started to use Windows 95, which was a total kickass back then with its Windows Paint! :D — I drew, drew and drew; and then, Frontpage and Photoshop visited my life as well.

I found a different world in graphic design, and I met Leonardy Gunawan who taught me about design world in a deeper level — even he’s kind of a lunatic and eccentric. I met with him through mIRC, and I remember he was looking for me through the channel with his barbaric method hahaha.

Internet got better and better, faster and cheaper. Online games were flooding our youth. Online chat and community were carving memories in our past. I remember how I blew the Internet bill using a dial up excessively, since the price was charging me hourly.

Here I am today where people said I am at the center of the world, United States, where the never ending technology keeps popping up. Internet becomes a part of your morning coffee and cigarette. You can found internet wherever, whenever. Home Cables, Hotspots, Smartphones, and even on MP3 Players. We are all connected, and keep running to the unlimited future. Isn’t it scary yet exciting to imagine how is ten years ahead will going to be?

No one knows. The old me in the high school will never guessed about myself today, while waiting for my car service, sitting in the guest room, connected to the wireless internet through my mini laptop and posting this blog. It might not be amazing to us… but if we look back to the past, it is amazing.

(I actually planned to rant about how slow this wi-fi connection I got right now, since I can’t streaming Veoh so well, but seems like my mood changed and travelled to the past).
